What is wrong with Issue 1?
- Issue 1 actually codifies and requires the gerrymandering of state legislative districts in the Ohio Constitution- it DOES NOT end gerrymandering. It also eliminates critical gerrymandering restrictions that were approved by Ohio voters in 2015 and 2018.
- Issue 1 eliminates any accountability of the Commission to Ohio’s voters, allowing unelected bureaucrats to affect state elections indefinitely. Issue 1 will not allow lawsuits against the Commission if the voters are not happy with the Districts drawn.
- Issue 1 is an attempt by out of state, and even foreign interests, to influence Ohio elections and turn Ohio BLUE. Democrats cannot win with these types of radical proposals in the duly elected General Assembly of Ohio, so they pour tens of millions of dollars into media lies and deception to sway low information voters.
Don’t fall for the deception. The voters of Ohio need to have a say in District boundaries and to hold their elected representatives accountable.
